FULL CONTROL OF MULTIPLE CONFIGURABLE HOME-SCREENS
The IKIVO solution allows the device manufacturer or carrier to fully control the user experience. The IKIVO solution allows for the creation of a complete UI concept which does not need to retain the navigation concept or the functional separation of capabilities of the device.
With an IKIVO designed UI, it is possible to combine multiple functions within a single screen. For example, a home-screen could incorporate photo contacts, camera support to collect photos for contacts, and media support to select a custom ring-tone.
OPTIMISED HARDWARE UTILISATION
The IKIVO RMC is always closely integrated with the specific features of the hardware that directly affects UI performance. Designing the UI with the specific intent to make best use of the available capabilities (including OpenVG, OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenMax) ensure the best performance of the most commonly used UI screens.
ADVANCED 3D TRANSITIONS AND EFFECTS
The IKIVO Enrich UI Solution enables the use of both declarative and scripted animations. These can be put to use in single screen elements, including buttons, sliders, touch-indicators and widget animations. The possibilities for screen transitions are unlimited. IKIVO provides a library of 15 screen transitions including spinning cube-style, shutter-action, page-turning, concertina, folding and ripples. Each effect is made up of 3D translations and effects which bring richness to the experience and differentiate the UI.
In working with a handset manufacturer or carrier, the rights for the design and implementation of
special transitions can be retained by the customer such that no other IKIVO customer is able to re-use that transition effect. This allows for long-term differentiation in UI design.
ADVANCED UI FRAMEWORK
IKIVO provides the IKIVO Enrich UI Framework. This provides re-usable UI components that can be manipulated through the IKIVO Enrich Authoring Tools to facilitate and expedite UI development.
Once the IKIVO Enrich RMC is delivered for a platform (e.g. Android), there is no further requirement to focus on device API integration, Android Java or Native C programming, as that is already complete within the framework.
Customization is then carried out using the IKIVO Enrich Authoring Tools, without the need to revert to lower level coding. This is very important for carriers and handset manufacturers who are looking to take ownership of UI and related application development, but who might not have the lower level coding or integration experience.
